A terrible 6.9 magnitude earthquake took place near the Solomon Islands on Saturday. According  to the researchers and the U.S Geological Survey  there was no damage in the area.

The earthquake, near the Solomon Islands struck at a depth of 35 km  off Kira Kira , however the quake was felt quite strongly in the capital, more than 124 miles away from the epicenter. Fortunately the quake brought no problems.

According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, there was no tsunami warning  in the area.
